The racing season is already underway with the Off Road Riders in action and gaining points in the Anderson Points Competition.
Young Thomas Smith has completed three events in the youth category finishing 5th, 6th and 9th in his first full season.
The club’s reigning Off Road Champion Alex Bellinger has ridden in three National Trophy Series Junior events recording two 17th and a 20th position. He also rode the National Championship finishing a creditable 21st. With two other open events finishing 23rd and 35th it’s been a busy time for our Champion.
Even busier is Paul Buckley with nine off road events completed, with five positions in the top 40. With entries nearing the 100 mark for each event Paul has ridden well. He also rode the Trike 25 mile T.T. at Chilham last month. Not the fastest of courses particularly on a trike he finishing in 6th place with a time of 1hr 22m 50s. Richard Masters had a great ride at Temple School taking a very good 13th position. He also had a superb ride in the 1st Vets 10 mile T.T. on Wednesday morning 2nd April finishing in 1st place with a time of 23m 53s. Also riding was Graham Strugnell who got round in 29m 18s, this a day after celebrating his 60th birthday.
Luke Anderson rode the Gorrick event taking a great 19th position with team mate Dave Bishop finishing in 76th place after nearly missing the start .Luke also gained a creditable 6th position at Betteshanger in a SERRL event.
Preston Anderson rode the Southborough New Years Day 10 mile T.T. taking a fine 14th place with a time of 25m 30s.
In the Anderson Points Competition points are awarded as follows
Club events 10pts for 1st place, down to 1pt for 10th position.
Open events 20pts for 1st place, down to 1pt for 20th position.
National Competitions 30pts for 1st place, down to 1pt for 30th position.
